• Join me as I take a deep dive into the fascinating world of wild bettas I’ve kept and bred over the years. We'll explore their unique care requirements, captivating videos of their natural habitats, and, most importantly, uncover why every aquarist should dedicate at least one tank in their fishroom to these incredible, underrated species.
• Speaker: Sai Krishna Reddy
• Sai Krishna is a software engineer by day, but when he's not in front of a computer, he spends his time nurturing his passion for aquariums and fish keeping. His journey into the world of aquarium hobbyists began with the purchase of a fancy betta from Petco. Little did he know that this small fish would soon lead him into the fascinating world of wild bettas. As Sai Krishna delved deeper into the hobby, he met Brian Strickland at Youngstown Area tropical Fish Society and learned about the endangered status of many wild betta species. This realization sparked a commitment within him to devote a majority of his tanks to the breeding and raising of these vulnerable fish. Over the past five years, he has successfully spawned and raised 45 different species of wild bettas. Sai Krishna's passion for fishkeeping extends beyond wild bettas. He has also kept and cared for a variety of other fish species, including dwarf cichlids such as Apistogramma and Mikrogeophagus ramirezi, as well as killifish and livebearers.
