July 31, 2026 – Mitchell Broome

• Presentation: The Evolution of DIY in the Aquarium Hobby

• Speaker: Mitchell Broome

• As with many people, I got back into the hobby about 15 years ago as a stress relief from work.  The angelfish spawned and I decided to attempt to raise them.  That spiraled out of control and now I am a "Grand Master Breeder" having bred a few hundred different species.  I generally focus on smaller, less aggressive species and most tend to be rare or endangered.  I currently run around 150 tanks mostly for rare corys, but also including other unusual species that catch my eye.  Understanding "why" something works for breeding a fish is a central goal of mine and passing that knowledge on is part of what makes the hobby enjoyable.
