Summary:
Apistogramma are some of the most rewarding dwarf cichlids in the hobby, but they can also be quite frustrating without the right approach. “Success with Apistogramma” focuses on practical, repeatable methods for keeping and breeding a variety of Apistogramma species. Topics covered include: tank setup, pairing and conditioning, managing aggression, water considerations, spawning behavior, and fry rearing. Attendees will leave with clear steps they can apply at home, plus troubleshooting tips for common setbacks.
• Bio:
Christian has been active in the freshwater aquarium hobby since his early teens, first introduced by his father, Ron Kline. Over the years he has kept and bred a range of South American species, with a focus on smaller loricariids and dwarf cichlids, including Apistogramma. At 24 years old he holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, where he focused on mechatronics and industrial control systems. That background led him to develop a custom fishroom control system to automate and safeguard day-to-day operations—especially water changes—so his tanks could remain stable and successful throughout college. He now works full time on his business, CAK Aquatics, continuing development of a productized Fishroom Control Center.
