Hi All!
OK. So I decided I should probably do this. And I liked Roberto's story so much, I decided to share mine.
To go WAAAYYY back. My Great Aunt was visiting when I was about 5. She bought me a fish bowl and a few tropical fish. They proceeded to die within a few days. I was so sad she took me to get more which died a few days later. Again she bought replacements. That night they caught me standing on a stool in front of the dresser that the fishbowl sat on. In my hand was one of the fish which I was lovingly petting!

Flash forward to junior high where I knew I'd be working with fish
if I grew up. Went to Jacksonville University for a BS in Marine Science and Biology. Got my first fish tank Freshman year. And the rest is history. I think I've had at least one fish tank in my place ever since. I've kept fresh and salt at home.
And I've been privileged to work with some great animals at Newport Aquarium and here, at Pittsburgh Zoo's PPG Aquarium. Freshwater rays (Potamotrygonidae) have always captivated me. And I don't think there are many cooler fish than the Arapaima. But, of course, most people can't keep them at home. So at home I tend to stick to tiny fish like Rasbora maculata or panda corys.
