Does anybody have another name or pseudonym for this species? This is how it was spelled on the bag, so I don't even know if the spelling is correct. I cannot find it in any of my books, nor can I pull up anything remotely close on a search engine.

Dan that is not the spelling of this fish... It is Tramitichromis sp. "intermedius" . The male gets almost an irridescent color to its body and the females stay the silver with the 3 black dots on its body. The male has the dots as well untill he is a mature male or in spawning colors.  I also added a pic to the male i used to have that took 2nd place at the last pittsburgh show they had. Sorry pics arent that great this was like the first time i took pics of fish as you can see. But this fishes orange oon the fins and the rest of its bodies is amazing in person  Bout time your getting into Cichlids, now try to get Leslie ( betta lady ) to convert to cichlids, and NO i dont mean OSCARS... hahah    Wink

Leslie, he doesn't recognize any non-African species as being a cichlid.
