Check out the article in the October issue of TFH co-authored by our very own Coryguy(Eric Bodrock)! Congratulations Eric!

Well, pulled them today, and no babies. The good thing is that they are all still there, and are big and plump. You can see the green eggs inside of the females. Maybe I can get some action in a tank!

Info on Seachem PRIME:
http://www.seachem.com/Products/product_pages/Prime.html

An overview of water conditioner products:
http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/rev-cond.htm
(I came across this posted on a planted tank forum a while ago, so unfortuanately some of the embedded links are no longer up to date.)

Then if you really want to know more check out the article on "The Skeptical Aquarist":
http://www.skepticalaquarist.com/docs/water/chlorine.shtml
and
http://www.skepticalaquarist.com/docs/water/conditioners.shtml

Probably more info, details and science than you really want, yet interesting none the less.
However, like most science, raises still other questions (ie., why would you really add aloe vera to an aquarium?)

I've been using Novaqua about 10 years. Most, if not all, conditiners break up chloramine now. Many bind heavy metals also, which affects us through copper pipes, water impurities and even iron in well water. I have tried Seachem Prime, but don't like the smell it imparts to my refill reservoir. Now is the time I get a large bottle "Novaqua  for ponds" on clearance.treats like 2,600 gallons. Grin
Not to highjack (?) but I despise Microbe-Lift: Stinky & made red slime in the sumps.
